Being Single is a gift from God.

Being Single is a gift from God.

I know being single is not the most popular thing amongst us humans. We are social creatures and we crave companionship. But just hear me out OK? Have you ever been in the loop of dating different people who are just as useless as the next? Basically what’s happening is you’re just dating the same character in different faces. Dating sites don’t seem to work and the desperation is slowly kicking in and you just want to be with someone. You feel empty inside and have somehow convinced yourself that you’re the kind of person who has to be in a relationship to thrive.

You feel empty inside and have somehow convinced yourself that you’re the kind of person who has to be in a relationship.

The desperation kicks in and you are intrigued by anyone who pays attention to you because they make you feel wanted and loved. Most of the time they’re nowhere near your type of person! Well if everything that you’ve been trying to do doesn’t seem to work I have news for you. God wants you to be single for a season.

The Bible says every good and perfect gift is from above. It doesn’t matter what stage in your life you are in. The person you’re meant to be with is supposed to be a perfect gift from God. They are not meant to COMPLETE you. They are meant to COMPLEMENT you. Chances are, you are not ready to receive this person or vice versa. It doesn’t matter what you do or how impatient you become it will not happen a second before God says.

Your impatience and fear of being alone will cause you to be with someone who is not right for you.

If you had a completely honest conversation with yourself are you ready to be in a relationship ?

Do you have what it takes to be someone’s wife or someone’s husband ?

Can you honestly say that if the kind of person you wanted came into your life today , they would feel like God has given them exactly what they prayed for or would they feel short changed?

Now that that’s out-of-the-way, here is how being single is a gift from God.

Seek ye first the kingdom of God and all these other things shall be added unto you

Matthew 6;33

1.God wants to work on his relationship with you

Working on your relationship with God reveals to you your weaknesses and he guides you in a loving way to be the best version of you.He will teach you forgiveness, patience, slowness to anger and all these beautiful attributes that make you a better companion for someone when the time is right.

2.God hides your heart.

If you give your heart to God ,he holds you so dear and will not give your heart to just anyone .He will give it to someone worthy of all that you are and are working to become.I would rather wait for that than rush into a relationship that might not last and worse yet end up in divorce one day. Look I know your emotions aren’t on hold.As you wait and anyone comes into your life and spark interest,Here’s a really powerful book to buy for Men (He Who Finds A Wife) and a must read for women looking for The Man God Has for You.

3.There is no judgement or Pressure

There is no one looking through your life choices and giving you an opinion about it .You don’t need to impress anyone. You’re doing what you need to do at your own pace. You don’t have to do the most for anyone but yourself! You will fall and God will help you pick yourself up without anyone knowing!

You -1,

Embarrassment -0!

I know being single doesn’t feel so good but it is such a beautiful thing when you embrace it!It won’t even last that long if you stopped focusing on it. A lot of good things are happening for you. Take time and know God.Please don’t do this just so you get a life partner.God will see right through it anyway. he cannot be mocked. Do it because you want to have a beautiful relationship with God.

Having recently gotten out of a relationship and struggling with the new found “single-ness”, this is exactly what I needed to read to boost my confidence and motivation to keep moving forward. God seriously moves in such mysterious ways, and I’m so glad I found this at this exact moment because had I seen it any earlier in my grieving stages, I would not have bothered to look at it or take it to heart as much as I do now. Thank you so much for sharing this.

In genesis God said it is not good to be alone and created Eve to complete humanity with both genders, and said that’s the reason people leave their parents to be married. The marriage relationship for sexual pleasure and intimacy produces the greatest joy and pleasure of all that God made. Thats the entire point of even having gender. Why would it be preferable to not be martied if God said it’s not good to be alone? Was the loneliness God meant was not good simply being without other humans, not specifically that it’s not good to be without a marriage partner for pleasure from sexual fulfilment itself; Is reproduction for more friends to be born more important than marriage for its unique type of intimacy? How is pleasing a spouse not serving God? Marriage wasn’t a distraction from worshiping God before Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit. Why would sexually passionate and intimate marriage be something of the world if God made it? Is worship of God more specific than simply using what he gave the way he intended it to be used?

I think you misunderstood what I was aiming at. I did not say that anyone shouldn’t get married. I posted this for others to see that being single is not as horrible as people make it seem. That in the time of waiting, its a beautiful thing.A time to learn who you are, be complete as a person and grow your relationship with God so when you do find the person meant for you, you don’t need to be co-dependent and start learning who you are because you took the time on your own to do that.
